The Denim Edit: Designed for Movement, Crafted with Purpose

I’ve always had a deep love for denim. It’s one of those fabrics that balances structure and softness, strength and comfort. It wears in, not out shaping to the person who wears it and telling a story with every fade and crease. For chefs who move with purpose and precision, denim is both a durable tool and a style statement. Denim comes in many shapes and forms where some are more lightweight and less structured while others are thicker, raw, structured, and heavy duty. There are also endless types of washes.

This ultra-unique apron collection was designed for Katsuhito Saiki, Executive Chef of the Toshi Group, a visionary who understands the importance of thoughtful details in both food and form.

We created a custom split-leg half-long apron in rich denim, engineered for ease of movement while maintaining a sharp, tailored silhouette. The split design offers flexibility on the line, without compromising structure or presence.

Every feature was intentional:

Functional pocket placement for tools and pens

Double-stitched seams to withstand daily wear

Custom denim loop belt rings, adding both visual interest and practical convenience so the strap does not drop down during service.

It’s one of those rare projects where every detail aligned with purpose and performance. This piece reflects the essence of how I like to work, blending fashion-forward thinking with the daily demands of the kitchen.

If you’re seeking something that moves with you and lasts with you, denim is always a good place to start especially for cafes and casual eateries. Custom orders are accepted for this style in your branding colours. I look forward to designing for you.
