Designing Custom Aprons: Where Branding Meets Function
Designing custom aprons for my clients began as a dream, one that quietly took shape when a client asked for something unique. From that first project, it naturally evolved as I was invited to work on restaurant and café openings, hotel uniform programs, chef-specific requests, and a variety of special projects focused on elevating uniforms and enhancing brand presence.
It was my idea to start incorporating each business’s branding directly into their aprons. I believe uniforms shouldn’t just be practical, they should carry your identity. By using your brand’s colours, values, and visual language, each apron becomes more than just workwear; it becomes an extension of your story.
A perfect example is this custom apron designed for Landed Bakehouse in Whitehorse, Yukon.
For this design, I highlighted their signature yellow in the pockets and waist straps, while keeping the base apron in navy to align with their core colour palette. The result is subtle, intentional, and unmistakably theirs.
Branding isn’t just about logos. It’s about consistency, thoughtful details, and how your team shows up in the everyday moments. When your staff wears something made just for your business, it strengthens your identity and adds a deeper layer of meaning to the work they do.
